The temperature protection does not need charging at all, and will continue independently.
VIVI Cap Smart doesn’t need batteries or to be refrigerated. It's designed to maintain safe storage temperatures autonomously and continuously, absorbing the excess heat, releasing it to the environment when the ambient temperature drops below room temperature.
If desired, it may be placed in the refrigerator to accelerate heat release, but always without the medication inside.

Insulin that has been opened and is in use must be kept at room temperature at all times. If exposed to temperatures above 86°F (30°C) or below freezing it can be damaged and unsafe. Damaged insulin is not visible to the naked eye.

When the button at the bottom of the device is clicked, the green light is your reassurance that your insulin is currently safely stored at the correct temperature. The light should stay on for just a few seconds. enough time for you to observe the color of the indicator while preserving its battery life.
This function does not affect the self-regenerating temperature protection in any way.

VIVI Cap does not require any maintenance, there is no need to charge it or to place it in the fridge. After initially fitting it to your insulin pen with one of the supplied adaptors, simply use it as your pen cap. It fits most of the prefilled insulin pens. There is a VIVI Cap available for refillable insulin pens as well.
